Polaroid of the week: Mermaid fountain in Antigua, Guatemala

Antigua’s Central Park is home to a quite unusual fountain – four mermaids on each side of the fountain are spraying streams of water out of their breasts. The fountain, ‘Fuente de las Sirenas’ in Spanish, was built by Diego de Porres in 1738, who took his inspiration for the fountain from the Neptune Fountain in Bologna, Italy.

Hotel Tip of the Week: Hotel Diva | San Francisco

During the California leg of our round-the-world tour we had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Diva in San Francisco for two nights in May. Though Diva doesn’t fall into the average backpacker’s budget, it most definitely falls into any Globetrotting Girl’s budget in need of a some spectacular relaxation in a sexy hotel in the heart of San Francisco!
