This past week was all about temple hopping as I explored the ancient cities of Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle. The most remarkable sight: The Jetavanaramaya Stupa!
I spent my last week in Cambodia on the glorious beaches in the south. Otres Beach remains my favorite one, and I enjoyed a few wonderfully lazy beach days there.
We finally ticked a huge item off our travel wishlist – the Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia. The best surprise was that the 3-day jeep tour through the Altiplano was about way more natural beauty and adventure than we had expected.

Although Valladolid is with 45,000 considerably big, it has more the feel of a sleepy Mexican village, with pastel colored colonial buildings and a tranquil town center. A lot of the women still wear the typical Mayan dresses and sell hand-made dresses and other crafts around the town square.
Back in Chiang Mai we wanted to see more of Northern Thailand’s scenic countryside and took a bicycle tour through rice fields, tiny villages and hot springs.
We took our rental car for a spin around the island of Langkawi beyond the beautiful Cenang beach and discovered it was monkey business as usual wherever we went!
