The best part of traveling, in particular this current NYC2NOLA road trip, is catching those glimpses of people around the world going about their every day lives…
Great American Road Trip: NYC2NOLA **Extended** (Is there ever really a final destination for nomads?)
We extended our Great American Road Trip 2011 from New Orleans up to Chicago, with a stop in Memphis, TN. 3,000 miles, 15 states, and a lot of deep fried fixin’s later, NYC2NOLA road trip has finally come to an end. Read on for updates on the last days and find out where we are headed next.
Yesterday in Philadelphia was all about the food, so today we dedicated ourselves to discovering the role that Philadelphia has played in US history. Both of us knew about the main attractions/events like the Liberty Bell and the signing of the Constitution, but we were actually very surprised to understand just how much of the American way of life is revealed in the city.
From a mini self-hosted TV tour of NYC to a fabulous foodie Philly experience, we’re now on stop two of our Great American Road Trip from New York City to New Orleans. Watch this space, as we provide daily updates from each stop. Today we are in Philly!
We have arrived at the final destination of our NYC2NOLA Great American Road Trip 2011 – we are in New Orleans and fell immediately in love with this great city!
Our first of two days in the capital included night bike rides through the neighborhoods, a visit to The White House and seeing the monuments lit up at night.
Although we could spend months immersed in that particularly sweet blend of New Orleans urban life, there came a point during our visit where we just had to get out of town…what we discovered were the rural roots that throughout history have melted together to make the Crescent City so unique.
Savannah is known for its eccentric locals, including plenty of ghosts, but this weekend the spirits are more of a micro brew sort – as we enjoy the Savannah Craft Brew Festival 2011!
We had two action-packed days in Atlanta: The World of Coca Cola, a Studio Tour of CNN, the world’s largest aquarium, Southern Food and much more!
