Polaroid of the week: Watch out for the turtles!
We’ve seen warning signs for bears, sloths, even fleeing people on the road…today we saw one for a smaller, slower creature…so we went on a hunt for our favorite little reptile.

When you think of German food, you might think Schnitzel, Bratwurst or mega-meaty dishes like knuckle of pork or beef roulade, but no worries – vegetarian visitors can find plenty to eat here. We sure didn’t go hungry! Check out our top picks, and some seriously mouthwatering photos…
To some, a visit to Munich might mean steins of beer, bratwurst and oom-pa-pa music, typical for the city’s largest and most famous party – Oktoberfest. Ask the locals, however and they will describe any number of aspects they love about Munich life – from the sprawling parks and world-class shopping to up-and-coming trendy artist neighborhoods, but there is one exciting part of Munich life that almost everyone can agree on – getting out of the city.
We were recently nominated by Nicole and Cameron, the Traveling Canucks, a project which was started by Tripbase, with the goal being ‘to unite bloggers (from all sectors) in a joint endeavor to share lessons learned and create a bank of long but not forgotten blog posts that deserve to see the light of day again’. For all the run-of-the-mill spots, there are the absolute gems which tick all the boxes, culminating in a trip highlight, rather than just a place to stay. This week’s Hotel Tip: Belmonte Vacanze in Tuscany, Italy.
5 June marked our 400th day on the road – it has been over a year now since we started traveling and while time has flown by, those first few days of nomadic freedom also seem a lifetime away from where we are now (which is Lisbon, Portugal, by the way!)
