Tenerife’s top outdoor attractions

no thumb

Summer holidays in Spain, whether on the mainland or on the islands, are usually all about non-stop sun, sand, sea and fun, but a trip out to Tenerife, on the Canary Islands, is not all about laying around all day and dancing the night away. The largest of the Canary Islands is actually packed with action, which is why, if you don’t quite know where to start, you could consider booking something like the Co-op Travel’s Tenerife package holidays, which are  ideal for all ages. If you are an independent traveler, having a rough holiday agenda in Tenerife is important, so the following will give you a range of the top attractions you might want to visit when staying in Tenerife:

Mount Teide

One of Tenerife’s most well-known attractions, this is not only the highest mountain in Spain, but also the third largest volcano in the world. To experience the magnificent scenery, you can either hike to the top or take the cable car. Either way, it is a must-see as once you do get to the top, the view of the rest of the island will stay with you forever.

Park Las Aquilas Jungle Park

A trip to this wildlife park is fun for kids and adults. A plethora of animals live in a tropical environment, making this trip to the zoo much more exotic than what you might know from home.

Time to tee off

Alright so this isn’t so much action or adventure, but for golf fans – and there are a surprisingly high number who visit Tenerife each year – the Golf del Sur resort will no doubt be high on the agenda. If you’re a fan of the game and spending time in the sunshine, this resort is definitely the one for you.

Combing the coral reefs

Since Tenerife has some beautifully translucent oceans and plenty of opportunity to explore them, diving is a brilliant activity to do if you love the water or want to see more of it. It’s easy to get trained up and find the right equipment, and then you’ll be exploring coral reefs in no time. Seeing tropical sea creatures in their natural habitat is an unforgettable experience, and is the chance of a lifetime.

It’s our goal to get you out beyond the standard and stereotypical ways to experience certain destinations, which is why sharing these top attractions in Tenerife is so important to us. Sure, you can hang at the beach and sip cocktails in the clubs, but mix and match this with outdoor activities to create a viable, valuable holiday agenda.
