Teaming up with Courtyard by Marriott
Posted on 29. Jul, 2012 by Jess in Accommodation
For all the charm of a boutique hotel or glamour of a five star escape, we still believe that function rules over fashion in any hotel. Our Hotel Tip of the Week series always includes info on just how friendly the hotel is for digital nomads. Working as your travel – or traveling as you work – means needing to know details like if there is free Wi-Fi, whether it actually works, if there is dedicated space to work, that sort of thing.
We teamed up with Courtyard by Marriott because we were intrigued by their Courtyard Refreshing Business lobby program. As of Spring 2012, Courtyard had refreshed over 500 lobbies their U.S. locations with all those little extras in mind that the 21st century traveler really needs. In each one there is a spot called The Bistro, which serves Starbucks coffee (yes!), healthy food and drinks and alcohol for later in the day. The lobby is meant to be both a place to relax as well as a functional work space, complete with integrated laptop-friendly workstations and plenty of outlets! One of our pet peeves is when we have just gotten comfortable working, the lack of outlets means packing it all in and going back to work in the room. Giant 55-inch GoBoard screens allow guests to look up weather or local news, provide tips on local attractions, and to print directions from lobby printers.
Courtyard seems to have thought of everything so it just made sense to team up to give one of our readers a $300 Gift Card for you to experience it as well.
For a chance to win a $300 gift card at any one of the 500 Refreshed Courtyard hotels, just sign up for our monthly newsletter by 11:59pm on August 14, 2012. You can sign up for it here. Your name will be entered into a drawing at Random.org and one winner will be chosen!
