A mere dot in the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Verde is one of Africa’s more hidden delights. Constituting ten small islands, Cape Verde is largely unspoilt by modern life. Holidays to Cape Verde are filled with rustic charm, and its people have strong sense of identity that makes the island chain so attractive to visitors.  Boa Vista, the third largest and least populated island is arguably the jewel in the Cape Verde crown and is only a 12-minute air-taxi journey (or a short ferry ride) from the busier island of Sal, and the international airport.

Its unique climate ensures it is slightly cooler than the rest of the African continent with temperatures around the 25°c mark, a more bearable and pleasant heat than many other African destinations. If relaxation is what you are after there are several hotels on the island with modern facilities.

Cape Verde restaurants have a reputation for variety and Boa Vista is no exception. The country’s Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and English heritage have combined to create a culinary melting pot to suit every taste, with fresh, high-quality food thanks to the enduring local tradition of farming and fishing on the island.
